Jodie Powell (English version) who was White House spokesperson discloses this event to Brooks Jackson of the reporter for Associated Press on August 28 four months later, and the communication companies become full of this topic than the next day. The White House refused to provide a photograph, but, as a result, the story that "the President was attacked by a rabbit" decorated the one side of Washington Post using the parody comics that changed it of a part of "JAWS" of the poster of the movie jaws to "PAWS" [4]. The White House continued refusing the offer of the photograph afterwards, but I switched a policy for Reagan Administration Era and became the topic again.

Powell talks about this event as follows in this The Other Side of the Story which I wrote in 1986 after the spokesperson retirement:

As a result of "having investigated it in detail, the animal was proved to be a rabbit, and I was a kind to have "ヌマチウサギ" and the big foot which opened outside which I called in the days of a child not the pretty thing like the bunny in Easter"

It "was impossible I revealed that I was ferocious, and the President did not have the experience that dealt with the rabbit which got furiously angry too much, and to understand the psychology of the rabbit, and, however, it was huge, and it made a sound called Shoo, and it was apparent to concentrate a feeling so that this wet animal which ground its teeth got in the boat which the President got on whether the animal suffered clearly"

Carter is unhappy as the President, and this case insists that weaken; was political, and was done for the hostility power in the ideology by the suitable material [5].

In addition, this case was made parody in song I Don't Want a Bunny Wunny of folk singer Tom Paxton (English version) who won a prize for Grammy award special service in 2009. This song is put in album The Paxton Report released in 1980.
