Hiroshima R.P.O. (the post office which Hiroshi wait, and gathers) is the post office which has ever established the main office in Hiroshima-shi, Hiroshima.

Summary

R.P.O. was one of the kinds of the Japanese post office, and the staff boarded it to be able to let a railway company operate a mail coach, and transport from station to station transported done mail from the post office along the railroad and conducted affairs to divide mail into in a mail coach according to an address area [¹]. The authorities were in charge of a section of the Chugoku district middle western district mainly soon.

History

• 11 R.P.O. including - Hiroshima is established (1903) in March in 1903, but abolish it within this year [¹].
• I open - Hiroshima R.P.O. (1910) in October in 1910 [¹].
• I install - Yonago police box (1936) in September in 1936 [²].
• I extend Shimonoseki, Tokyo Line with the opening to traffic, the passenger train (mail coach connection) service start of - barrier tunnel (1942) to Moji in November in 1942 and assume it Tokyo Moji Line [²]. I abolish a waterway mail track (I use a barrier ferry) between Shimonoseki Moji [²].
• The postal transportation business of the San-in district central part is transferred with opening of an office [¹] of - Yonago R.P.O. (1945) in August in 1945 by the station.
