The エフィンガム earl (English: Earl of Effingham) is British earlship.

As for the first, the second is founded as United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland noble as Great Britain noble in 1837 in 1731, and the second thing exists. Both first and second descend from Itsuo William Howard of the second Norfolk duke Thomas Howard.

I refer to Baron Howard (Baron Howard of Effingham) and the Nottingham earl (the sixth) of エフィンガム as an associated title.

History

Itsuo William Howard of the second Norfolk duke Thomas Howard was conferred English noble "Baron Howard of エフィンガム in county of Surrey" (Baron Howard of Effingham, in the County of Surrey) to in 1554 [1]

Eldest son Charles in succession to Baron Howard this エフィンガム digit acted as a Minister of the Navy (English version) from 1585 through 1619 and overthrew a Spanish invincible armada by Almada sea fight in 1588. English noble "Nottingham earl" (Earl of Nottingham) rank is conferred by the achievement in 1596 [2].

Because the third earl Charles (English version) did not leave a successor in 1681, this Nottingham earlship died out [3], but the Howard baron rank of エフィンガム was succeeded to by great-grandchild Francis (English version) of younger brother Sir William Howard of first generation Nottingham earl Charles [4].

As for Baron Howard Francis (English version) of the seventh エフィンガム of the second son, it was conferred "エフィンガム earl (Earl of Effingham, in the County of Surrey) in county of Surrey" to Great Britain noble in 1731 [5], but because the fourth エフィンガム earl Richard (English version) died without a successor in 1816, I did an extinct family, and the エフィンガム earlship became extinct once [6].

The Baron Howard エフィンガム digit was succeeded to by Kenneth (English version) who was a great-grandchild of younger brother George of Baron Howard Francis of the fifth エフィンガム and, as for him, was conferred "エフィンガム earl in county of Surrey" to United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland noble some other time in 1837 [7]. This エフィンガム earl follows until today, and the current present head of a household is the seventh earl David [8]; [9].

The land owned it around Oxfordshire and, according to the investigation of 1883, owned 5,731 acres [10].
