The nincompoop dance (it goes down and surrounds a person) is a kind of the medieval noh farce. By the dance of the short person, I belong to the funny skill. It was written down to "the description of new medieval noh farce" and, in the Heian era, was put in a medieval noh farce.

There is the documents first to go out in an article of "Chronicles of Japan" Emperor Buretsu March, 8 saying "I establish 奇偉之戯 which pushes forward large に 侏儒倡優, and does comfort of 爛漫 and do 靡靡之声 lengthwise".
