Old Yahata post office
The old Yahata post office (きゅうはちまんゆうびんきょく) is a landmark architecture in Omihachiman-shi, Shiga.
I was used as an office of the post office until 1960 since I was completed by a design of William メレル ヴォーリズ in 1921. An entrance part was demolished, but was restored to the original state afterwards in February, 2004. It is inflected as utility rooms such as a gallery or the event meeting place and is used now as an office of the meetings [1] of one non profit organization ヴォーリズ architecture preservation reproduction campaign.
While there is personality, I adapt myself to cityscape, and the design which blended Japanese-style Machiya structure if Spanish plays a role of the landmark of the old city center [2].
