Gulf of Salerno
Gulf of Salerno (Italian: Golfo di Salerno) is a gulf of the Tyrrhenian Sea (the Mediterranean Sea) in Campania of the southwestern part of Italy.
The northwest of the Gulf of Salerno is marked by Sorrento peninsula. The Sorrento peninsula southern coast becomes the shore which is steepness called Costiera Amalfitana. It is the beauty spot where tn. lines up on the opened small land towards the sea including ポジターノ and, including アマルフィ which prospered as a marine city state in the Middle Ages, is registered with a world heritage. Harbor city Salerno that is the prefecture capital of the Salerno prefecture is in the northeast of the gulf, and the promenade along the gulf is maintained [1].
I am called ピアーナ Dell セーレ (it:Piana del Sele) by the east. In World War II, the alliance national military struck the Salerno coastal line between Salerno and the southern whole area in September, 1943 (Operation アヴァランチ).
