Ten thousand volumes
The ten thousand volumes (まんがん) are Buddhist priests of the Nara era. I am called ten thousand volumes holy priest, 萬巻上人. I was familiar with mountaineering asceticism and realized Hakone god deified in three shrines in Kumano district honorific title of a Japanese god in Mount Hakone.
Life
It was a boy born as Buddhist acolyte Tomohito of Kyoto in the Yoro year and I received it at 20 years old and, according to "筥根山縁起," did ingredient tonsure (priest) and was called ten thousand volumes (萬巻) because I called the sacred book of 10,000 and went round in hallowed ground of the all over Japan [1].
Erected Jinguji, Kashima (749 years) with 鹿島郡大領中臣連千徳, 元宮司中臣鹿島連大宗 the Tenbyoshoho era first year [2]; [3].
In addition, it is said that I realized it by a 37-day fast prayer because I did edification when I chant sutra because I witnessed that flame breaks out in the sea on the way to Hakone from Kashima, and a fish is dead, and fishermen are agonized that The Buddha of Healing appears and moves a hot spring to the mountain in the dharmatic power from the sea. This is handed down with the origin of Atami Onsen.
Received a command of the Imperial Court (757 years) the Tenbyohoji era first year, and climbed Mount Hakone for the purpose of bundling up mountain worship of Mount Hakone, and trained itself in Kamiyama and Mt. Komagatake for three years, and Sagami National University realized Hakone god deified in three shrines in Kumano district honorific title of a Japanese god (law body, common body, woman body) by success of the penance already in Lake Kawakami pond water side [1]; [4]. And want to erect the main shrine (existing Hakone-jinja Shrine) dedicated to Hakone honorific title of a Japanese god by the oracle in the dream [1]; [4].
In addition, it is said that 調伏 did that nine poison dragons (nine dragons) having a head living in Lake Ashi rage and tormented a villager in the dharmatic power [4]. Because nine done dragons confessed 調伏 and were converted to a ten thousand volumes holy priest with a precious stone, a priest's staff, a jar, I erected the main shrine (existing nine dragon King company) to worship as the main god of water (nine dragon honorific title of a Japanese god) of the lake [4].
I erected Tado Jinguji by an oracle of the Tado honorific title of a Japanese god (763 years) for Tenbyohoji era seven years [3].
As for the year of a person's death of ten thousand volumes, I am missing, but "tomb" (graveyard) is near the entrance of the north approach to a shrine of Hakone-jinja Shrine, and monthly festival is performed every month now on 24th [5].
