"Super storm" (British: Superstorm) is a docudrama of the BBC Worldwide production in the U.K.

It was broadcasted in BBC One for three weeks from April 15, 2007 and was become DVD in the U.K. in July, 2007. It was broadcasted with Discovery channel in United States Canada in summer of 2007. It was broadcasted in NHK in Japan in September, 2007.

A production team same as docudrama "スーパーボルケーノ" (Supervolcano) broadcasted in 2004 was engaged, and Julian Simpson dealt with supervision, a script together.

A study team of the American existence working on a study to say to weaken the power of the hurricane artificially becomes the model. A scientific program called The Science of Superstorms was televised after drama broadcast every time in BBC Two.

Outline

Project "Stormshield" of the United States of America government which stood for the purpose of the development of the technique to handle a typhoon and a hurricane artificially, and was put up.

Hurricane Grace of the Category 3 (approximately 50-58 meters of wind velocity) that occurred all over the season of a hurricane and the typhoon has begun to gradually extend power. The study team of "Stormshield" investigates possibility to let I delete center of a typhoon by sowing refrigerants such as liquid oxygen or the liquid nitrogen, and a hurricane weaken using a simulation system "tempest".

However, as a result of simulation coolant injection a hurricane strong; the possibility letting become it very much surfaces. Even the study member was skeptical about this project, but still left for the experiment in the small typhoon that small plane Agatha erased center of a typhoon. This trial seemed to succeed at a glance, but the power of this typhoon becomes powerful and swallows Agatha with one Ralph of the researcher while I continue testing it. Sarah who forced the boarding of this plane on Ralph is astonished for death of Ralph and, just before this experiment, is depressed.

Several weeks later, what I was afraid of becomes the reality. Large hurricane Grace was enlarged to Category 5 (more than approximately 70 meters of wind velocity) at last and has begun to take the course in Miami.
