Piperacillin tazobactam is medical mixture of penicillin derivative piperacillin and beta lactamase repressor tazobactam of the wide area spectrum. The product name is Japan; "ゾシン" "タゾシン" (TAIHO Phamaceutical Co., Ltd. production sale), "Tazocin" (sell Pfizer production in Canada, U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Italy), "Zosyn" (the United States, Pfizer production sale). The combination of these drugs shows an effect for many Gram positive bacteria and a Gram negative bacterium, Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Use
The main use is intensive care medicine (including pneumonia, the peritonitis), a diabetes-related lower limbs infectious disease, a pyrogenic neutropenia (e.g.,: after chemotherapy). I usually give this drug from a vein in 3-30 minutes for 6 or every 8 hours. I run more than four hours and can give it continuously. It is thought that blood concentration maximizes time more than the smallest stunt density (MIC) as for the dosage for a long time.
Piperacillin tazobactam is considered to be a first-line drug of bacteremia, sepsis of the cancer patient with the neutropenia by NIH. [1]

- Indication: Sepsis, pneumonia, pyelonephritis, complexity cystitis, peritonitis, abscess, cholecystitis, cholangitis in the abdominal cavity
- Pyrogenic neutropenia
Side effect
The most frequent side effect is loose bowels (7% - 11%). [2] Clostridium difficile-related loose bowels were seen in 4.9% in a certain study. [3] Platelet function restraint and thrombocytopenia are reported. [4]
Product name
"ゾシン" "タゾシン" is sold as a starting article in Japan. Other than Tazocin and Zosyn, Biopiper TZ, Brodactam, Piptaz, Maxitaz, Kilbac, Trezora, Du-Tazop, Tazopen, Sytaz, Inzalin TZ are sold.
