Summary
The Noshiro circle started work as a fourth ship of the N type cargo boat spent for New York route improvement of Nippon Yusen (1933) at Mitsubishi Nagasaki shipyard on December 7 in 1933 and was completed (1934) on launching, November 30 on June 28 in 1934. Nippon Yusen utilized the first ship improvement furtherance facilities on the occasion of the building of the N type cargo boat and allotted "天洋丸" (13,041 tons) which was one of 10,000 tons of first Japanese super cargo-passenger boats from a company carrier ship as a marriage meeting dismantling ship of the Noshiro circle [3]. I went into service in the New York route from the end of December [4] and I piled up raw silk and miscellaneous goods, manganese 鉱 from the Philippines by the outbound passage and took it and I loaded steel materials or cotton on the return voyage and ran the whole course between Yokohama and New York in 28 days [5]. However, the ocean lane was gradually reduced in 1939 by the change of the world situation including the World War II outbreak of (1939).
As for the Noshiro circle, it is done 徴傭 (1941) on May 1 in 1941 by the Japanese Navy, and subsequently it is entry in the family register, the Yokosuka naval station family register as a specially installed aircraft carrier on July 1 [6]. However, the Noshiro circle that entered its name on the family register later will be referred to "Noshiro river circle" for convenience only in the navy inside on July 10 because is owned by Nippon Suisan, and is done 徴傭 as a special minesweeper by the Japanese Navy, and the trawler of 216 tons of the same name was registered at this point in time [6]; [7]. Equipment of a ship construction was carried out in Yokosuka naval shipyard from July 1 to August 19, but is removed from a register on August 20 with not being used as a specially installed aircraft carrier; on September 20 as a special cruiser an entry in the family register [6] [7]. Taking advantage of this entry in the family register, the trawler came to be referred to second Noshiro circle [6]. 兵装 at the time of the specially installed cruiser was the 15 centimeters gun 4 gate, 8 centimeters of anti-aircraft gun 1 gates, 7.7 millimeters of machine guns two and two water spy planes [8]. I act as the flagship of the Yokosuka guard squadron after the construction completion [7] and I belong to the second marine bodyguard (茂泉慎一中将) of the new formation (1942) from April 10 in 1942 and engage in the carrier guards. However, I classified it into specially installed transport briefly on August 5 during the period when Noshiro circle acted as a specially installed cruiser and was changed and carried out equipment of a ship construction as the special transport in Yokosuka naval shipyard from October 19 to October 24 [6].
The Noshiro circle that became the specially installed transport engages in transportation operation and I depart from Tokyo Bay on November 3 and step forward in Rabaul via Saipan, Tinian island and Truk Islands [9]. I receive an air raid (1943) on January 16 in 1943 during Rabaul anchorage and there is a dead shot in the fourth hold and is damaged [10]. I appoint you the transportation to the short land or Colombin gallaisland over February and I finish a duty and, after a tinker, depart from the end of January for a track in Rabaul on 帰投後, March 12 [10]. However, was discovered in American submarine gray Bach (USS Grayback, SS-208) while navigated 00°10'S 151°06'E / 0.167 degrees S 151.100 degrees E a point of 151.100 on afternoon of March 13, the following day [10]; [11]. The gray background fired four torpedoes, and one of them was veiled at the bow, and other one of three hit it near the starboard fifth hold, and was damaged [10]; [12]. I did 帰投 in Yokosuka via Saipan on June 19, and, after the tinker by the truck, this repair was carried out until July 21 [13].
Most of the trends of the next nearly one year are missing [explanatory note 1], but they enter in (1944) in 1944 and go south and join the ヒ 62 fleet in what is equipped with bauxite [14]. I departed from Singapore (Singapore) on May 23 and came to six via Manila on June 8 [15]. The equipment for increase detailed や reverse spy of the machine gun is carried out other than repair at Mitsubishi Yokohama shipyard [16] and is done a cruise after repair completion in Moji and joins the ヒ 71 fleet. On August 10, the ヒ 71 fleet departs from Gulf of Imari and withdraws to the south through Prince horse. However, I encountered three American submarines, blue fish (USS Bluefish, SS-222), rusher (USS Rasher, SS-269), attack of the spadefish (USS Spadefish, SS-411) from the night of August 18 through the early morning of August 19 and started the damage. A rusher attacked and sank a carrier goshawk by the first attack [17], and sinking [17] [19], the Noshiro circle did caution with navy sign chartered ship "emperor sub-circle" (empire ship, former France ship Arami's / Nippon Yusen trust, 17,537 tons) by [18], the second and the third attack to continue severely, but reached 18°10'N 119°55'E / 18.167 degrees N 119.917 degrees E the point of 119.917;, by the way, receive the fourth of the rusher and the fifth attack [20]; [21]. The rusher fires a torpedo six of them in total, and one of them of those hits the second hold port side of the Noshiro circle [20]. One of them hit the bow of the navy sign chartered ship Awa circle (Nippon Yusen, 11,249 tons) almost simultaneously and went to Manila in proximity to a shore together [22]. Made only a speed from 4 knots to around 5 knots by the damage, and the lost Noshiro circle continued going south while dropping in at the anchorage of the Luzon coast and arrived at Manila on August 24 [23].
The Noshiro circle performed a tinker after arrival in Manila, and was almost the situation to be completed, and to be waiting for a fleet to Japanese soil on about September 17 [24]; [25]. However, on September 21, carrier-based plane group from the 38th American duty military unit (mark ミッチャー lieutenant general) did an air raid in Manila and gave the bridge deck region a dead shot by a near hit near the bridge deck of the Noshiro circle [24]. The first of the distinction penetrated a boat deck soon and exploded in an engine room, and a fire occurred [24]. After the fire spread through the division with ammunition and the oil, and 総員退船 was given an order to start exceedingly here, and the crew escaped, I entered at night and had a large explosion [26]. The fire was almost reduced to ashes successively in hull central part with 23rd on September 22, and was serious, and the planking subsided from the stern on damage, September 24, too, and sank in the bottom of the sea of 12 meters of depth of the water [26]; [27]. The sinking point is recorded with a point of 188 degrees 1,800 meters of the Manila Konan breakwater south Lighthouse, 14°33'01" N 120°57'05" E / 14.55028 degrees N 120.95139 degrees E [6]; [28]. As for the Noshiro circle, it was done removal from a register and 解傭 on November 10 [6].
