Nissan, ZEOD RC (Zero Emission On Demand Racing Car) is the prototypic racing car of the closed body which Nissan Motor developed as a hybrid car for the races. I was developed for the purpose of the participation in a war to a race at 24, Le Mans time of 2014.

It is a style to change an engine run and an electricity run and I regenerate electricity during an engine run and, unlike the general hybrid car which usually uses the electricity for a run as an assist with the engine, accumulate to the battery and I change it to a motor in the place that saved electricity and run and take the unique run method to repeat an engine run again when battery is sharp [1]. Because I do not change during an electricity run with real EV, it is called the EV race cars [2].

When I fix the notation point by the alphabet of "ZEOD RC" for notation with the Japanese katakana, it becomes the notation of "the ズィオッド are sea" [3]. But, about a race car of this report, what is taken up by car name notation with the katakana called "the ズィオッド are sea" in the Japanese site of the Japanese car-related magazine and Internet is rare at all, and there is predominantly much what is usually based on "ZEOD RC" of the car name notation by the alphabet, and is taken up (e.g.,: "auto sports" (magazine, Internet), "motor fan Ylla stray Ted" (magazine), "F1-Gate.com" (Internet) other a lot of). Even if car name notation with the katakana may be used in the case of the following, I am used as a restrictive use called the explanation of how to read car name notation by the alphabet.

Summary

Ben bowl B (Ben Bowlby) that participated in the delta wing consortium that Don Panoz formed for a "project 56" plan to aim at the start for "Garage 56 limit" at 24, Le Mans time of 2012 by a race led, and designed a delta wing designed Nissan, ZEOD RC. Originally the bowl B dealt with development for the concept of the delta wing being adopted as a machine for 2012 of the Indy Car Series in delta wing racing Cars established by help of the tip ガナッシ racing. After a delta wing was non-adopted in the concept of the Indy car, based on "project 56 of the above," I would participate in Le Mans, but Nissan bought supply and the naming rights (the name right) of the engine for the project, and the delta wing participated in a race and a race of the American Le Mans series by a エントラント name of "the Nissan - delta wing" at 24, Le Mans time in 2012.

ZEOD RC let the chassis of the design similar to a delta wing comprise mechanism (drive train of the hybrid car) that was informed by a tire turn energy created with power and the engine which I produced with a lithium-ion battery efficiently in total [4]. Showed it on June 21, 2013 of the day before race final at the Salto circuit in the Le Mans city of France at 24, Le Mans time [5]; [6]. About ZEOD RC, Nissan emphasized following three points [5].

  • ZEOD RC utilizes a lithium-ion battery technology of "Nissan, the leaf"
  • ZEOD RC realizes speed more than 300km per an hour
  • I start a technical test toward three races at 24, Le Mans time of 2014

Car club (ACO) in western France announced that I gave ZEOD RC "the Garage 56 frame" of the race at 24, Le Mans time of 2014.

ZEOD RC was released on October 17 in the ニスモ head office in Japan [7]. As for the bowl B that participated in the ceremony, the car name is derived from ZEOD RC by an interview; change it from a gasoline run on demand, and speak that aim at running Salto circuit one lap 13.629km of Le Mans only by the electricity which is zero emission [8].

ZEOD RC serves as a demonstration run afterwards in Fuji Speedway for three days until from 18 to 20 on October [9].

In 2014 of the next year, ZEOD RC which carried out participation in a war for a race at 24, Le Mans time recorded 300km per an hour by a drive of Tetsu Motoyama in a session of the qualifier third in ミュルザンヌストレート [2]; [1]. In the final, I ran one lap of Salto circuit only by an electricity run by a drive of Wolfgang ライプ. One lap of Salto circuit by the electricity run becomes naive. However, by the trouble of the gearbox, it became the retirement for approximately only 24 minutes.

An engine and drive train

Was developed with cooperation of British RML, and the Nissan DIG-T R engine put on ZEOD RC was designed as a compact 1.5 liters 3 cylinder direct-injection turbo engine weighing 40 kg in weight [10]; [11]. The drive train accumulates electricity by regenerating it, and an engine run and an electricity run are changed [12].

Suit

With the Ben bowl B that designed the delta wing when the delta wing consortium that Don Panoz and tip ガナッシ and others formed participated in consortium on November 22, 2013 (supplied an engine to a delta wing) for Nissan by secret maintenance and a registered trademark, an abuse, a breach of contract of trade secrets for the suspension of compensation for damages and the use of "delta (triangle) and the wing section-formed vehicle" file a suit [13]; [11]. When I entered into ガナッシ racing and an employment agreement, the bowl B takes an oath of a condition of the severe confidentiality, and the leak of the confidential information that ガナッシ and a subsidiary company maintain after leaving the office is forbidden, but insists because ZEOD RC produced ZEOD using intellectual property rights of project 56 when I violated intellectual property of the delta wing consortium.

I insist that it is not a project that ZEOD RC is designed by an original new design for this claim in Nissan North America and violates the intellectual property of the third party.
