Kunio Matsuura

Kunio Matsuura (まつうらくにお, 1927 -) is a Japanese architect. Professor emeritus at Kyoto University. Doctor of engineering

I study under Toshio Maeda becoming the 18th Kyoto University president later in Kyoto University architecture classroom and study building environmental engineering particularly photoenvironment (illumination). I make an effort for the development of the illumination calculation method including mutual reflections and, for activity in Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE), award a prize of CIE Award in 1995. In addition, I win Architectural Institute of Japan award for "contribution for a study, education of building environmental engineering particularly the photoenvironment engineering and the development" in 2006.

I successively hold Director of Architectural Institute of Japan, Illuminating Engineering Institute of Japan's vice-chairperson, Japanese National Committee of C.I.E's vice-chairperson the other day.
