Itakura (I am and roll it up), Nanbu (around Kibitsu Shrine) are summoned to the northern part (around Kibitsu Station) in the district with Miyauchi (みやうち).

Summary
I am the eastern part of the Takamatsu district center of Kita-ku, Okayama-shi and am located in the west side of the city Ichinomiya district. It becomes the Nakayama, Kibi northwest foot and receives the border of Bicchu country and the Bizen country, and this becomes the boundary with the Ichinomiya district. In the south, Nakayama, Kibi, the north be inserted between Nagoshi Yamadai Hirayama, and it becomes oblong, but I can clear the western part, and, in the level ground, level ground spreads out to the east and west.
In the district, National highway No. 180 and a Momotaro line (Kibi Line) go to the east and west, and Kibitsu Station is established.
The people were countrysides, but making it it went ahead through the residential land mainly on the vicinity of major road rapidly once as suburbs model bedroom town because there was a highway, and a station was near. In addition, there are still many rural districts in the district away from the main important doctrine.
In addition, it is the corner of paths of Kibi, and this district has an Imperial mausoleum of 吉備津彦命 in Kibitsu Shrine and fortune Tomi, the Nakayama, Kibi mountains in the north foot of Nakayama, Kibi, and, besides, there are many a famous place, historic spots.
Because there are 吉備津彦神社, Inari, Mogami, Mt. Osamu God (the Kurozumi Sect headquarters) near by other than Kibitsu Shrine, in National highway No. 180, it is a great traffic jam for New Year holidays.
Origin of the place name
The Kibitsu district was called "iron" (I do not wind it up) formerly. The origin comes from that it was sung with "an ancient and modern times sum songbook" about Nakayama, Kibi with "the sheath this morning of the sound of the iron Nakayama Zone Hosoya river to model of blowing Kibi". It is a customary epithet to express Kibi country "to blow iron" in this song, and "the iron" is a meaning called iron.
I was admitted into Takamatsucho, and the iron merged and was renamed to current "Kibitsu" afterwards at time. The origin is from Kibitsu Shrine and Kibitsu Station. It may be decided that there was Tsu (port) of the Kibi country with an origin of the place name of Kibitsu in this neighborhood, but is a mistake because I am complicated with the place name of Kibitsu according to the said article with Takamatsucho and am after. In addition, there are not this near by port-related remains, too.
