Origin, person

In Azuma Shimizu Senior High School, I participate in summer Koshien of 1957 as a cleanup, a shortstop [¹]. With two rounds (first match), it is defeated by law and politics two higher of this meeting runner up. A teammate 1 year junior had Norio Suzuki (Toei) catcher.

I enter Meiji University in 1958 and, in the Tokyo six University league, have Akira Goto me (Yawata iron manufacture), 八木孝両投手 and win the championship in a league in spring in 1961. I participated in an all-Japan university baseball championship of the same year, but was defeated by Nippon University which had ace Masanori Miyata in the semifinals. I attract professional attention as a large shortstop [¹]. Tokyo six University league 89 games participation in total, 293 at bats of 65 hits, batting average .222, 3 home runs, 42 runs batted in. One time of top nine.

I join Hiroshima Carp in 1962 [¹]. The existence of Takeshi Koba was not able to take root in the regular whom there was in the first year, too [¹].
