Person, origin

I am born as Satsuma feudal clan clan doctor of Satsuma country Kagoshima Shiroshita Yamanokuchi Babacho, a child of 鮫島淳愿. After having learned Dutch learning from Kakutaro Ishikawa at 15 years old, I learned from Nagasaki as a Dutch scholar research worker by a domain order in (1861) in the Bunkyu first year and, other than medicine, learned English in 英学塾培社 which Tora Uryu presided over [1]. I act as instruction (Japanese reading of a Chinese character person) in 藩立洋学校 "Kaisei place" established in (1864) in the Motoharu first year. I invite Hisoka Maejima who was a substantial operator of 培社 of Nagasaki then as an English lecturer. I study in the U.K. in Arinori Mori, Nagasawa tripod, Kiyonari Yoshida, Tomoatsu Godai and others 15 as (1865), a foreign student of the Satsuma feudal clan in 1865 and learn from the London University letter of the law department for approximately one year. I went to the United States in (1867), Arinori Mori, Kanae Nagasawa, Kiyonari Yoshida, Yoshinari Hatakeyama, Junzo Matsumura and others six in 1867 and entered association "new life company" of Thomas lake Harris and learned while working in a vineyard. There was opinion opposition on the way, and forest and Samejima returned home, and Yoshida, Hatakeyama, Matsumura moved to the Rutgers University of New Jersey New Brunswick through the good offices of clergyman Ferris.

Because Harris suggested that I worked in Japanese Government after the Restoration of Imperial Rule, as for Samejima, Arinori Mori decided to return home together, and (1868), the both persons arrived at Japan in 1868, the following day. Only the Nagasawa tripod was left in the United States and was engaged in viticulture. In October of the year, it was a Tokyo prefecture right size councillor through a foreign governmental authority judge, Tokyo prefecture judge in July in the next year and took up my new post (1870) in London via 外務大丞, Europe difference trainer, 少弁務使 in the same year in (1871) in 1871 in August in 1870. After having advanced to (1872), 中弁務使 in 1872, I arrived at Paris and was promoted with a minister resident, a minister extraordinary and plenipotentiary. I made "Diplomatic Guide" (Samejima names the title in Japanese "outside diplomatic relations method guidance") for a young Japanese diplomat with Frederick Marshal of the foreign employee the other day. I return home (1874) in April in 1874. I became foreign affairs Daisuke who was a vice-minister of Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the next year.

A minister extraordinary and plenipotentiary residing in France was appointed again (1878) in January in 1878 and resided in France. It is done an official order then by Munenori Terashima of the Minister of Foreign Affairs to begin treaty revision negotiations [explanatory note 1]. I combined with a Belgian minister then. About the treaty revision, I start intention of the U.K. entirely, and Samejima gets information that France imitates it if the U.K. agrees [3].

I fell chronic lung disease during minister holding the office residing in France in Paris and died of illness at 35 years old. Arinori Mori who was 終世友人 rushed to the funeral service and spoke it with "a noble work person" by words of condolence [4].
