Gulf of Katsuura (Chiba)

Gulf of Katsuura (winning back wooden bowl) is a gulf in Southeast Chiba. It is old and is informed it with a place called 奈留加海 (the becoming sea), and there are 鳴鹿湾 (I do not buy it) [1], an another name with Gulf of crescent moon (crescent moon wooden bowl) [2]. It is the gulf which opened out for the Pacific of the south side, and there is not the inflow of the big river. The shore part has a sandy beach and a cliff part;, as for the width of the heads of a bay, approximately 1.7km, depth are approximately 1.6km. A center of Katsuura-shi faces the northeast bank, and there is a pine part fishing port in the west coast Katsuura fishing port in the east bank. There are Katsuura center beach and Kushihama beach in the gulf, and a swimmer is seen in the summer [3]. In addition, there is 尾名浦 in the gulf west coast as a beauty spot and can look at the sea cave.
