GAZ-AA (RussianАЗ-АА) is the track where American Ford AA trucks were produced as a model in the Soviet Union. Gorki car factory (Gorki アフタマヴィーリヌイ ザヴォート, GAZ) is in charge of the production. I was used many as a military vehicle during World War II. For load capacity of 1.5 tons, I was called by a nickname of ПОЛУТОРКА (Porto Luke: will of 1.5).

Commentary

In the early 1930s, the Soviet Union acquires the license production right of the Ford model AA1930 model of Ford Model A of the car and the truck from American Ford Corporation. I began production in Nizhny Novgorod car factory (NAZ) established as a common enterprise with Ford.

The first AA made in the Soviet Union is completed on January 29, 1932. When a factory name became the Gorki car factory with the change of the city name in the same year, the vehicle name became GAZ-AA from NAZ-AA, too. Various specifications changes are introduced in the middle of production by circumstances of the available material, Soviet Union's original improvement.

An engine was strengthened from 1938 from 40hp to 50hp, and this engine reinforcement type was called GAZ-MM and was produced until postwar 1950.

There was not the surface difference with GAZ-AA, but, in original GAZ-MM, various production simplification was made for a material saving other than an engine all over the wartime. To the canvas top of the shape that it is in the corner type that production is easy as for the front wheel fender with 1941 models, and is simple in the cabin roof, as for the cabin door and the front bumper, as for the abolition, the headlight, only in the left side, as for the brakes, only as for the rear wheel, in アオリ of the carrier, come to standing and falling-type only the rear [1].

GAZ-AA/MM of 150,000 輌以上 was used in Red Army troops at the time of great mother country war (German ソ war) start. Furthermore, about 98,5000 輌 is produced including a derivation type in wartime.

By 6*4 type of truck which increased rear wheels in 2 axes, it was produced based on six Ford Ken Tim trucks. The load capacity is 2 tons. Over from 1934 to 1943, 37,000 輌 rests were produced. As for the production type of the latter period, an engine is strengthened as well as GAZ-MM. In addition, the chassis was utilized for bases such as six armored car BA-3, BA-6, BA-10.
GAZ-410
The dump truck that GAZ-AA and GAZ-MM were made by a basis. 1.2 tons of load capacity. I was produced from 1934 through 1946.
GAZ-42
The variation with the charcoal gas generator. I was produced in correspondence with lack of gasoline from 1938 through 1950. A low horsepower was low speed than a gasoline engine car.
GAZ-55
The ambulance that GAZ-AA and GAZ-MM were made by a basis. I was produced from 1938 through 1945. During World War II, it was the ambulance which was used most in Red Army troops.

GAZ-65
A Halftrack type produced experimentally in 1940.
GAZ-03-30
The bus that GAZ-AA and GAZ-MM were made by a basis. One driver, passenger 16. Production began in 1933 by a name of GAZ-3 and was renamed to GAZ-03-30 in 1936. It was a bus used most commonly and was used as strength of an army transportation and a staff car, an ambulance in wartime before the war. It was produced 15,000 輌近 くが by 1950.
GAZ-05-193
The bus that GAZ-AAA was made by a basis. Unlike GAZ-03-30, was produced for a special use (staff car), and nine passengers. It was produced 200 輌余 り.
