Ernest William Brown

Ernest William Brown (Ernest William Brown, November 29, 1866 – ) is a U.K.-born mathematician, astronomer on July 22, 1938. I worked mainly in the United States of America. I studied movement of moon and made a service list of the extremely correct month and calculated the orbit of the asteroid of exercise and the Trojan asteroid of the planet.

Life

I was born in Hull of Yorkshire. I learned from East Riding Courage in Christ college of Cambridge University and studied it under the direction of George Howard Darwin. I studied an article about the movement of moon of George William Hill in 1888 and studied Shitsuki. After becoming the researcher of the Christ college in 1889, and having obtained master's degree of the mathematics in 1891, I worked in ハバフォード University of United States Pennsylvania, and it was a professor of the mathematics in 1893.

In harbor Ford college, I continued studying the theory of the month and, in book An Introductory Treatise on the Lunar Theory of 1896, reviewed a leech, ドロネー, the study of Hansen and others. Furthermore, I pushed forward a study and created the theory of the movement of new moon and announced it to a r. astronomy bulletin from 1897 through 1908.

It was taught Yale University in 1907 and made the organization which calculated movement of moon in detail and I spent a large amount of money with time for 12 years and published Tables of the Motion of the Moon in 1919. The service list of this moon was used widely and was used until the modern method with the computer was made in 1984.

I continued studying the movement of work, moon in Yale University until I retired in 1932 and studied the exercise of planet and wrote Clarence シュック (Clarence Shook) and Planetary Theory. The 1897 Royal Society fellow election.
