Life

I am born in Nishimatsuura-gun, Saga Imari-cho in 1905. I spend the kindergarten era emigrating to China for the childhood period in 奉天市 and move to Aoyama of Tokyo City from Dalian City in the middle of an elementary school [1]. Advance to the Okura commercial school, and read "a herb" of poetry [2] and Walt Whitman of Longfellow that appeared in a textbook in English, and and poetry of Yonejiro Noguchi reads poetry of Sakutaro Hagiwara to about 17 years old at the age of 16 years old "confessions" of Jean = Jack Rousseau at the age of 15 years old each; to a poem was affected [3]. I fail in the examination of the Tokyo Bijutsu school and advance to the Tokyo language school, and the poetry that I contributed to "a Japanese poet" is selected for the fourth class in 1925 [3]. I talked with Shuzo Hishiyama under the first grade about poetry in the language school, but sense of isolation was strong [3].

I graduate from a French subject in 1929, and what translated "a one season melody of the hell" of Arthur Rambo into the same year partially gets to know Tatsuji Miyoshi in an opportunity [3]. The one which [4] had effect such as World War II, and published the first book of verse which announced the poetry on recommendation of Miyoshi in "the four seasons" from 1935 was in its 50s and was 1956 when I entered. On the other hand, for fear of the disappearance of the draft of a poem by the air raid, I make the book of verse of 56 parts with a Japanese character typewriter in 1944. I wanted to work in the Ministry of Construction in Ministry of Communications and large Japan Airlines, postwar period and I became a lecturer of Yokohama National University in 1950 and, after [5], took office as a professor in 1965. I act as a part-time teacher after retirement age retirement in Ferris College for Women junior college, Meiji University, Hosei University until 1982.

It was a book of verse "colony" in 1964 and won the 34th Yomiuri literary prize in "Eiji Yamazaki book of verse" in the seventh Koutarou Takamura Prize each afterwards in 1983. In addition, I act as "the same period" and a coterie of "the course". including a style, the person

I am described as by Shinpei Kusano without writing lyric poetry when I brought about a work having realism built on the humanism in confusion [5]. In addition, there was lyricism pure at a glance, but was said to be it when enthusiasm to pursue survival in the depths of the consciousness existed [7]. I told that Yamazaki tried that fun was felt so that words itself danced [2], and verse in itself was sometimes sensual beautifully, and a viewpoint supported for intelligence and a human experience brought on charm [8]. In addition, I receive a high evaluation about the prose [8].

I was not necessarily a popular person as a poet, but there were a lot of ardent fans [5]. I am partial to Sakutaro Hagiwara since I have begun to read poetry and achieve the first meeting in 1931 [4]. In addition, I am invited to a meeting of the foundation of a periodical and might have the influence from the group pointed out in the four seasons when oneself had a good feeling, but show approval to an opinion of Choku Kanai who did neither that it is heterogeneous [7]. I liked baroque music and a picture since the days of a university student and might participate in a group exhibition of the picture [2].
