Distribution

Specific epithet calamianensis is synonymous with Japanese name and fame for will of "one of カラミアン product".

Form

Shoulder high 60-70cm. 35-50 kg in weight. The neck has a long trunk briefly. The back is covered with yellowish brown short hair, and black vertical stripes enters. The body ventral is dark brown, and the tail ventral is covered with white hair. The limbs are covered with dark brown hair.

The auricle is small, and the tip is sharp. The limbs are short, and the stink gland (gland between the hoof) in between a hoof does not develop very much.

The male has the corner that the tip was divided into two ways. The length of the corner is 30cm.

Habits

I inhabit the forest or the grassy plain. I form groups less than up to 27 and live.

It is thought that the eating habit eats grass, a leaf, a bud in plant food mainly.

The breeding form is developing in the womb. The gestational period is approximately eight months. I give birth to one (rarely two) calf in once.

It is said that it is edible in the habitat, and a corner and skin are used.

The number of the habitation decreases by food and a corner, the indiscriminate catches of the lenticel mark.
