Alvin Berger, 1906

Alvin Berger (Alwin Berger, from August 28, 1871 to April 21, 1931) is a German botanist, horticulturist. I contributed in the taxonomical field of the fleshy plant.

Brief career history

I was born in メシュリッツ (German version) of the テューリンゲン state. After having worked in a botanical garden of Dresden and Frankfurt, I acted as the botanical garden which Lord British Thomas Kahn bully founded from 1897 through 1914 in the Venn Timmy rear of Italy, a curator of ボタニチ アンブルイ garden (Italian version) (ハンビュリー botanical garden). I studied it afterwards over the United States of America for three years after having worked in Germany until 1919. I acted as the director of botanical section of the Stuttgart natural history Museum.

"Agave" (Die Agaven) of the most important work was published in 1915 and described 274 kinds of kinds and classified it in three subgenuses of Littaea, Euagave, Manfreda. I listed the rose Oka Kuta genus (synonym of Roseocactus, Ariocarpus fissuratus).

It is done 献名 by genus, Bergerocactus and Bergeranthus of the cactus family.

A.Berger is used to show Alvin Berger when I show an author by the scientific name of the plant. (I search Author Details in /IPNI reading an author sketchy description.)
