Algonkin

Original distribution of the Algonkin

An Algonkin (Algonquian peoples) or the アルゴンキアン group is a racial generic name to assume an Algonquian living in North America mother tongue. It is the populous group in the North American indigenous people. I counted a population of hundreds of thousands of once, but the current population is several thousand people.

Distribution

In the northeast, as for the past, in the south, the inland occupied Kentucky to North Carolina in Atlantic coastal area in the United States of America to the west Rocky Mountains in Canada from the southern part of Labrador, and the north surrounded the west projection of the Iroquoian group in east State of Maine and NOVA スコシア, and the west lengthened to north Minnesota.

Origin

Barry Fell assumes an Algonkin the mixed blood race of a Mongoloid (Mongolian family) and the Caucasoid (European), and the western part has thick blood of the Mongoloid, and it is said that the blood of the Caucasoid is thick as the eastern part. It is said that the reason included a settler in North America from the European area before A.D. The アルゴンキアン group has the tradition that an ancestor did across the sea, and it is said that I have the concept of the European Mediterranean Sea and the common constellation. The particularly eastern アルゴンキアン group closely resembles a race of Southern Europe and the Mediterranean Sea among アルゴンキアン groups, and it is said that a thing in the European origin is seen in the vocabulary of the particularly eastern language of Algonquin languages much.

The gene supports this, too, and ハプログループ X (mtDNA) and ハプログループ R (Y chromosome) are seen in an Algonkin at some frequency [1]; [2]. It is a type to be seen in Europe, orient well together.
