Kolomna (コロームナ, Russian :Коломна, IPA: [kɐˈɫomnə]) is a city of the Russian Federation. It is the town from old times to belong to Moscow.
Southeastern 105km, Moskva of Moscow are located at the point joining the Oka river. It takes 2.3 hours by a railroad toward the Ryazan area from Moscow. Expressway M5 runs. The population is 150,129 people in a national census for 2,002 years. About the origin of the name of the city, there are "a deep boggy place" and an opinion to do.

History
It begins in 1177 to appear as one city of the Ryazan dukedom at the time. 1300 began under rule of Grand Duchy of Muscovy and developed rapidly. Kolomna is important as a fortress for the Tartars invading Moscow and, during until the 16th century, receives the plunder of the Tartar many times. The Moscow grand duke built a defense line, the abatis line for the Tatary invasion, and, in Kolomna which became part, it was with the base of the attack for Tatary. The current stone Kremlin (fort) was built from 1525 through 1531.
Kolomna became important later as a trade road city from the city of the border defense. The railroad which links Ryazan to Moscow in 1862 is inaugurated to Kolomna, and the development as the industrial city begins afterward. A locomotive factory, a machine shop, public hospital were established in 1863, and a railway bridge across the Oka river was completed in Kolomna in 1864, and the railroad was extended to Ryazan. The strike by the worker happened at the time of the first revolution of 1905 in Russia in Kolomna.
Industrial
Kolomna is important industry, study city in Moscow today. Higher education, research organizations such as a teachers' college or the gunner University are in Kolomna.
