恵光寺 (I obtain it and grow on) is chaitya of the Jodo Shin sect of Buddhism Honganji group in Yao-shi, Osaka. Popular name "Kayafuri Gobo."

The history, summary
- It is said that it was erected by Kawachi country propagation 蓮如 in the way and does 蓮淳 which is 6 men of 蓮如 with an open group. The erection age does not become clear; with the 3 theory of 1470 (civilization two years), 1469 through 1489 (the civilization year), 1496 (Meio era five years) (do 1470 publicly with the tentative erection year).
- When it was the age of civil strife, 若江郡萱振 came to present the aspect of the tradesman's town near a temple around 恵光寺, and the circular moat was used, too. A part of the circular moat is left now.
- When Ishiyama battle happens (Tensho era two years) in June in 1574, the earnestness fighting monk (supporter of the Shinshu sect) of Kayafuri helps Ishiyama vows by Buddhas in previous lives or worlds to save all sentient beings priest. As for Kayafuri who had the fort which was called the Kayafuri Castle in proximity to 恵光寺, it was in a base of the Honganji group in the Kawachi country. I set fire, and 恵光寺 was almost destroyed with the Ishiyama Honganji fall of August (Tensho era eight years) for the same period in 1580.
- I belonged to the west group (Honganji group) on the occasion of Honganji east and west sect. However, 寂永 which was the chief priest at the time threw it on the east group (Otani group) with 准良 of the former chief priest for (Jokyo two years) in 1685 and moved to Settsu country Sumiyoshi county Hiranogo (large Satoshi Tokuyama light temple in current Hiranouemachi, Hirano-ku, Osaka-shi). After that 恵光寺 becomes the Buddhist temple without a resident priest temple for approximately 200 years until (1880) in 1880.
- I had subordinate temples more than 100 again as a special temple in the last years of Meiji era.
- A fire breaks out in the garret of the main hall of a Buddhist temple (1976) on June 23 in 1976, and the main hall of a Buddhist temple is reduced to ashes. Only the principal idol was carried by the chief priest at the time and got out of trouble. The current main hall of a Buddhist temple was rebuilt at reinforcing rod 2 stories in 1979.
- In 現在恵光寺, Bon festival dance (慧灯大師盆 dance) by Kikusuimaru Kawachiya and active temple activity including 恵光寺文化講座 are developed.
