Urakawa Shrine

Urakawa Shrine fall annual festival
September 15 is days of the most important court ceremonies of Urakawa Shrine every year. But in late years there is the opinion of parishioners, too and is performed on nearest Saturday and Sunday on a festival day. The festival is divided into a night festival (the eve) and a main festival in an evening.
Stalls form a line in the Shinto shrine precincts by the night festival in an evening, and two festival cars parade around a town with karaokes. The child mikoshi portable shrine exits in the others Urakawa main street district, too.
神輿渡御 is performed by the main festival from 10:00 a.m. 渡御 puts a miniature shrine and God tool (a color flag and Chinese Gods of four seasons flag) on the track approximately ten and goes round the towns with representative and parishioners. 渡御 is performed on foot in Sakaimachi entertainment district and the main street 1-5 chome. The state around the town is very worth seeing a parishioner in attire.
It was about half a century since then, and, in 2010, "海上渡御" which was a past act of God of Urakawa Shrine revived. Many people gathered in the Urakawa Port to have a look at 海上渡御, and applause was heated from the audience who saw a miniature shrine enshrined in a ship on the day.
The entertainment of the festival car is carried out in the precincts from the evening, and 神輿渡御 of mikoshi portable shrine meeting "粋麗" begins at the same time.
