Small new (こしん) is a town character of Nishi-ku, Niigata-shi, Niigata.

Larger sections of a village from 1889 (1889) to the present. And it is a name of a street to date from (1990) for 1,990 years. It is located in the right bank of Shinano River branch Nishikawa [3]. It is said that former title small Court Security Office Nitta that named a developer name threw the place name in a part of the area of small Shinmura whom there was formerly until (1889) in 1889 from the Edo era [3].

A tower house trace of the Middle Ages existed on a black swan in 緒立 and Matoba in the area, and liman marshes such as swan liman, two pieces of liman, the Matoba liman were ever the meadows which lay scattered [3].
