At the time of the establishment, it was said that a color in particular does not have the symbolic meaning, but in late years implication is conveyed unofficially. If the drained blood, blue are empty, as for the red, as for two seas, green, as for the farm and nature, the yellow that are indispensable in South Africa, it is said to money produced in South Africa that the represented natural resources, black show peace to a connection, the white with other African countries with the nation of the South African white with the nation of the South African black each in past opposition.

While it is said that a color does not have the meaning in particular for a formula, black, yellow, the green is the three degrees of perception of the flag of the African National Congress (African National Congress), and the remaining red, blue, white is the U.K. of the former colonial power, the three degrees of perception of the Netherlands national flag. It is understood that the national flag as of that purpose reads a tradition and history in Africa. In addition, these six colors are psychological primary colors.
