Socket 423 is CPU socket used in early Pentium 4 processor based on Willamette core. I point to socket in itself which is electronic parts according to the following in a narrow sense, but I turn and I include various standards used with this socket and say the specifications of the CPU which I can put in this socket to a wide sense. Even this clause comments on a wide sense.

Because it was revealed that an electric design was insufficient for a clock more than 2.0GHz, this CPU socket was short-lived. It is from November, 2000 to August, 2001 during the period when I shipped the tip that Intel adopted Socket 423 package and does not reach one year. Socket 423 was rearranged in Socket 478.

"PowerLeap PL-P4/N" is a device of the socket adapter type which was developed to use a processor for Socket 478 in Socket 423.
