Shoichi Chibana

Shoichi Chibana (Seoichi who is Chiba, May 11, 1948 -) is a peaceful campaigner, anti-war landowner of the Okinawa residence, a Sanomune Otani group priest. From 1998 is Yomitan-son congressist until 2010.

Career

I pulled down the Japanese flag raised in the softball meeting place of Yomitan-son at the Okinawa National Athletic Meet held in 1987 and burnt it. Chibana insisted that this was resistance for the compulsion of Japanese flag, Kimigayo to be strengthened by the after the war first Okinawa visit of the Emperor [1]. This case was greatly reported in the media of the whole country as well as Okinawa. By this act, I won Utako Tada anti-power human rights prize in 1989.

In April, 1996, I woke up entrance exercise with a family for return of the land on the land in the Sobe communication place that I invited sharpness to on the expiration date of the United States Armed Forces (popular name, cage of the elephant). The Japanese Government revised United States Armed Forces site special measures law in the next year and did an expiration date if extension was possible semipermanently virtually.
