Geography

I am located at the southeastern part of Fukushima-shi, the south end of the city. In farm village area, Suweon River flows through the north end. I contact with Yonazawa, Nihonmatsu-shi in Ozawa, Nihonmatsu-shi, Shimokawasaki, the west in Shimokawasaki, Nihonmatsu-shi, the south in Numabukuro, Matsukawa-machi, the east in the north. Above all, it was the Shimokawasaki district whole area once, but, in Shimokawasaki, Nihonmatsu-shi where I am divided into four areas (enclave) and receive, the border of these 2 areas is complicated by the division by the merger in 1957 with Matsukawamachishimokawasaki, Fukushima-shi up to the present.

History

History

• Shimokawasaki-mura, Adachi-gun, Numabukuro-mura merges by - municipality organization enforcement (1889) on April 1 in 1889, and Shimokawasaki-mura starts. The former Shimokawasaki-mura level becomes Shimokawasaki-mura larger section of a village Shimokawasaki.
• - Shimokawasaki-mura is incorporated into Nobuo county Matsukawa-machi (1955) on March 31 in 1955, and larger section of a village Shimokawasaki becomes Matsukawa-machi larger section of a village Shimokawasaki.
• A part of - larger section of a village Shimokawasaki is incorporated into the Adachi-gun Adachi village (1957) on July 1 in 1957 and becomes Adachi village larger section of a village Shimokawasaki (existing Shimokawasaki, Nihonmatsu-shi).
• - Matsukawa-machi is incorporated into Fukushima-shi (1966) on June 1 in 1966, and Matsukawa-machi larger section of a village Shimokawasaki becomes Matsukawamachishimokawasaki, Fukushima-shi.
