A Panamanian prefecture (Provincia de Panamá) is a prefecture in Chuo, Panama. Panama City (in Spanish that is a Panamanian official language "シウダ デ Panama" in English "Panama City") where the prefecture capital is a capital of the Republic of Panama.

It faces the Pacific in a Panamanian gulf, and Panama Canal passes. I belong to South America (the North American Continent) geographically. The RAS ペルラス Islands (Archipiélago de las Perlas) belong to the prefecture.

It was slightly smaller at the time of in the United States having established Panama Canal Zone once than now.
