The Ontario power generation (Ontario Power Generation, OPG) is the public enterprise which Canadian Ontario state government owns [2] and supplies approximately 50% of electricity of Ontario [3]. The energy source is atomic energy, waterpower, the velocity of the wind, gas heat, biomass. The electricity market of Ontario is liberalized, but Ontario state government owning OPG is a part of the valorization; an electric bill of OPG of the market regulate it to become below the average. Ontario energy Committee () is in charge of regulation from April 1, 2008.

History
OPG was established by the deregulation of the electricity market of the state which Ontario prime minister Mike Harris (the Canadian Progressive Conservative Party) at the time promoted in April, 1999. Along privatization plan of the Ontario high mud () that a state government planned (I divide it into five companies), OPG succeeded proprietary rights and the use of all power stations of the Ontario high mud.
Head office
- Ontario Power Building, 700 University Avenue, Toronto, ON M5G 1X6. Tel. (416) 592-2555.
Power station
The main power supply of OPG holds the velocity of the wind and the biomass with three kinds of atomic energy, waterpower, heat a little. I generated electricity in 60% of electricity of Ontario, 82.2 TWh in 2014.
| Power supply | The number of the power stations | Generation capacity (MW) | Output (TWh) of 2014 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Atomic energy | 2 | 6,606 | 48.1 |
| Waterpower | 65 | 6,426 | 31.3 |
| Heat and others | 5 | 4,027 | 2.8 |
| The total | 72 | 17,059 | 82.2 |
The Bruce Nuclear Power Plant is the world's largest in the radix of a radix, the nuclear reactor operating of outbreak electric energy, the installed nuclear reactor. It is careless, but, as for 60% of electricity of Ontario, will be generated electricity at three nuclear power plants (Pickering, Darlington, the blues). The serious accident about atomic energy is not taking place in Ontario.
Nuclear power plant
- Pickering Nuclear Power Plant (3.100 GW – Six CANDU reactor) – Pickering
- First unit - fourth unit (1.030 GW – Two CANDU reactor)
- Fifth unit - eighth unit (2.064 GW – Four CANDU reactor)
- Darlington Nuclear Power Plant (present conditions 3.524 GW – Four CANDU reactor (planning a new establishment of 2.000 GW) – Clarin ton
- Bruce Nuclear Power Plant (eight 6.300 GW - CANDU reactor) – ティヴァートン – The second place of the world.
- Series of A (I lease it in four CANDU reactor, blues power and am managing it)
- Series of B (I lease it in four CANDU reactor, blues power and am managing it)
Hydroelectric power station
- Auburn (adult B river)
- Big チュート (the Severn)
- Big Eddie (マスコーカ river)
- Bingham チュート (south river)
- Co-varnish ton (ワナピティ river)
- Christa Le Fort's (Sturgeon river)
- I generate electricity in 127MW in total in 29 places.
Thermal power station
during the operation
- アティコーカン (211 MW, coal) - I am switching it to biomass
- Lamb ton (950 MW, coal) - Closedown
- ナンチコーク (2.760 GW[5], coal) – A North America's biggest coal-fired station. During a present stop two engines for a fuel switch under equipment maintenance
- Thunder Bay (303 MW, coal) - I am switching it to biomass – Thunder Bay
- Lennox (2.140 GW, oil / natural gas)
A shutdown or dismantling
- Lake view – Shutdown (2.400 GW, coal) – ミシサガ
- ウェスレイヴィル - construction cancellation (in the early 1960s only as for the plan, the site acquisition)
- Hahn – Only as for the core facilities removal (the building exists) (1.200 GW, coal) – Toronto
Coownership
- Brighton beach power station (580 MW, natural gas) - OPG and a coownership of the ATCO power. The driving is Coral energy Canada.
- Port orchids energy center (550 MW, natural gas) - A coownership of OPG and the trans Canada energy. I transmit electricity in June, 2008 and start.
Other
- Three wind turbines (for the blues in two engines, Pickering one engine.7 MW in total)
- Two places of biomass power stations (6 MW)
