Namino-mura (ordinary loss) belonged to Aso-gun in the village which was in the eastern part of Kumamoto.
On April 1, 1889, it is started as independent village administration by the municipality organization enforcement. On February 11, 2005, it merged with Asomachi, Ichinomiyacho and became Aso-shi and abolished it as the local government.

Geography
It is located in the central part of part, Kyushu of Kumamoto at the east end, and the east side makes Oita and a prefectural border. Of the village area the whole area is located on the outer rim of a volcanic crater of Mount Aso, and there is Mt. basis equal to the east side most among Mt. Aso five at the west end of village area south, and there is almost 荻岳 (843m) in the southeastern part. The village area east side is a center, and the altitude of the village area amounts than 500m in the center.
I was changed to the local name that named "Namino" on the conventional area name by a start of Aso-shi.
