Geography
It is located in the eastern part of Naka-ku, and, in the north, Yamate-cho, Kitakatamachi, Honmokucho, Honmokujuuniten, the east contact with Nishikicho from 3, Shinyamashita, the west to the south. Highway Yamashita Honmoku Isogo Line goes along the town to the north and south, and it is in 3 2, the west 1, the Yamashita Honmoku Isogo line east side of the southern part the northern part of the town. There is the UR lease house "view coat small port" in the reclaimed land of 1 chome east side, and there is much population. There was the river mouth of Chiyo Sakikawa in a view coat small port and the boundary of Honmokujuuniten, but was filled up in section most than 2008 after I was made a culvert [4]. 1 chome west and way of the boundary with Yamate-cho are called "ワシン slope", but there are various opinions in the origin of the name of the slope [5]. The whole area of 2 and a part of 3 were requisitioned in 1946 by the United States Armed Forces and had been used as Yokohama Coast house, but were returned in 1982 [1]. "Ito-Yokado Honmoku" opens at 2 on November 21, 2008 [6]. After having become the closing a shop on July 18, 2016 because it was unprofitable, "the Honmoku front desk" that assumed Kohnan Nojima, Miwa each tenant on November 4, the same year opened it [7].
History
I was founded from Honmoku-cho, Naka-ku and Kitagata-cho in (1933) in 1933. I incorporate reclaimed land in part, 1941 of Kitagata-cho in 1938. I incorporated a part of the town level into 3, Shinyamashita in 1970 [8]. The name of a street was adopted from "Kominato" of the character name. In the clause of the northern village of the forming anew Musashi topographical record article with the record of "Kominato" [9].
