Kocho Nishimura

Kocho Nishimura (do irregularity principal, 1915 (1915) from June 4 to 2003 (2003) December 2) is professor emeritus at master craftsman of Buddhist image, Buddha statue repair engineer, priest, Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. Third Class Order of the Sacred Treasure.

Career

Takatsuki-shi, Osaka birth. For 1,935 years, it is Tokyo Bijutsu school (existing Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music) entrance to school. I want to be a modern sculptor in a sculpture department wooden sculpture part. At the age of a fourth grader, I go around Kyoto, Nara in the antique art object study trip of the school and am moved with Avalokitesvara of Horyu-ji Temple, dream. I graduate in 1940 and become the drawing master of the private junior high school (old system) of Osaka once, but retire at the end of the year. I enter an academy national treasure repair place in 1941 and enter the way of the Buddha statue repair. I participated in the repair of 11 Kannon-with-One-Thousand-Arms 1,000 images in Kyoto, Sanjusangen-do Temple.

In 1942, I am summoned and fight in one place after another in Chinese each place, and it is said that I appeared in the dream with the expression that the broken Buddha statue of tens of thousands of demands repair from then at several thousand. I return home in 1945 and return to repair in Sanjusangen-do Temple and after that acquire the ascetic practices as a master craftsman of Buddhist image, the Buddha statue repair engineer. It can be over 37 years old (calendar year) in 1951 and becomes the priest of a degree, the Tendai sect. I become the chief priest of Kyoto, the Atago prayer to Buddha temple in 1955 and deal with the revival of the temple. It is resignation in university professor, 1986 in retirement age retirement, honorary professor, Kansai girl art short term for professor, 86 years for assistant professor at Tokyo Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, 1,974 years for academy national treasure repair place director, 1,967 years for 1,959 years.
