Table of contents

Physical property

I make strange light between 3.5 and 10.9 with a period of 388.87 days [2]. The brightness in the very large minimum changes as well as an other Mira type variable star by a period. The spectral class changes with strange light between M9es from M6e, too [3], but an absorption line of technetium is seen in a spectrum.

It is visual binary and, seeing from the earth, sees the subordinate star with the twelfth class to digression 21 seconds. Because the Mira type variable star has many independent stars, it may be said that it is the binary of the Mira type variable star where there are few R stars.

Introduction method of the Hydra R star

Because 3 is to the immediate east of the gamma star of the star, it is easy to relatively find it. You may look for it in the one which first class star, Spica of Virgo almost wins in due north of the R star from Spica.
