Summary

It starts with IJF world judo tour introduction of 2009. "An international judo meet in France," it was changed "a grand slam, Tokyo" and a name "Jigoro Kanou cup Tokyo international judo meeting" "an international judo meeting in Russia" "an international judo meeting in Brazil" each "grand slam Moscow" "grand slam Rio de Janeiro" "grand slam Paris", and it was the positioning that was higher-ranking than other international meetings. "Grand slam Baku" was promoted to a grand slam meet from a Grand Prix meet in place of grand slam Rio de Janeiro from 2013. In addition, grand slam Moscow was changed to the Tyumen holding in 2014. Furthermore, "grand slam Abu Dhabi increases newly, too", and the grand slam meet will be held in this five times a year [1]. It was decided that grand prix Dusseldorf was raised by a grand slam meet from 2018. The grand slam meet in this way becomes 6 meetings [2].

As a meeting targeted for the point of the world ranking, I am given a point depending on order. In addition, there is the following characteristic in this meeting [3]; [4] [5].

  • I can let a player participate to two people from anyone other than each four rank, host country from the host country. But, in the case of the player who participated from the host country, I am given the point only to two people located in the high rank (among the players who participated in the host country of championship and two third place when it follows, the two people which was high-ranking the ranking adjacent to the house who came third will be given a point).
  • Eight high ranks of the world ranking are seeded among starters. When there are more than 32 starters, a first match is exempted the seeded player from.
  • The consolation match was not established from 2009 through 2012, but will be introduced from 2013. The player who lost in the quarterfinals can play a consolation match, but, as for the player who lost before it, it is at that point at fulltime.
  • 1,500 dollars is conferred on 3,000 dollars, the third place in 5,000 dollars, the second place to a champion. The coach will be paid the prize money other than a medalist in the meeting of 2015. Therefore the prize money of the medalist falls 20% conventionally (to a champion to 4,000 dollars, the coach in 1,000 dollars, the second place to 2,400 dollars, the coach in 600 dollars, the third place to 1,200 dollars, the coach 300 dollars); [6].
  • As for the design of the game, it is relayed a live in Ippon.TV of the IJF.
