Diterpene
Diterpene (Diterpene) is constructed by four isoprene and is a kind of terpene with a molecular formula of C20H32. It is derived than geranylgeranyl pyrophosphoric acid. Diterpene becomes the frame of compounds important biologically such as retinol, retinal, phytol. The antibacterial and anti-inflammatory nature is known.

Biosynthesis
All diterpene is made from produced geranylgeranyl pyrophosphoric acid by prenylation of farnesyl-pyrophosphate [1]; [2].
This chain-formed frame is converted into the following monocyclic structure (the love Dan frame is formed by concerted cyclization).

- Dodonaea petiolaris produces ent-3β-acetoxy- 15,16-epoxylabda-8(17),13(16),14-trien-18-oic acid (C22H28O6) and the enantiomer [3].
