History

In 1912, Wilmington Society of the Fine Arts was founded in honor of Howard Pyle from Wilmington. ^[1][²] possessed work one hundred or more which bought from a widow of the pile at first. I receive donation of the Pre-Raphaelism collection by Samuel Bancroft afterwards.

I received authorization from American Association of Museums in 1972 and changed my name with Delaware art museum. ^[3]

In the 19th century, I am known for art and illustration of the 20th century in the United States, the collection of British Pre-Raphaelites.
