The Purple Ribbon Medal (しじゅほうしょう) is one of the Japanese medals of honor. I am conferred in the name of "the Japan Emperor".

It was established (1955) on January 23 in 1955 by the revision of the medal of honor regulations (1881 emperor's reign official proclamation 63rd) (1955 government ordinance seventh).
