Difference between mixed liquor and liqueur
"Hybrid liquor" = sometimes described as "liqueur", but this is inaccurate. Because the classification of mixed liquor involves the classification of liqueur. In other words, there are liquor classified as mixed liquor among liquor which is not generally classified as liqueur in any region.
For example, depending on the region, it may be included in the definition of liqueur that it is contained at a certain rate or more though it is contained. However, in the case of mixed liquor, there is no such thing as mixed liquor due to the proportion of sugar content. In addition, Vermouth is flavored, but it is also not classified as liqueur as it is also a base other than sake. However, vermouth is a kind of mixed liquor. Besides, there are something that adds as well as so-called, but this is also not usually classified as liqueur. Furthermore, sake with added sake is not usually classified as liqueur. However, such sake, that is, sake other than pure rice wine is strictly one of mixed liquors.
As can be seen from the above, it is always mixed liquor if it is liqueur, but it is not necessarily liqueur even if it is mixed liquor.
Relationship with liquor tax law
Alcohol that has picked fruits etc in distilled spirits such as fruit liquor can not be sold at eating and drinking establishments unless it is notified to the tax office. In addition, if you make sangria etc. using wine etc. other than distilled liquor of 20 degrees or more, even if it is for home use or non-sale, it will be against the liquor tax law (if liquor production license is available).
