The Waseda Street in Kagurazaka, Shinjuku-ku is called "Kagurazaka Street". I go along Waseda-cho and Nishiwaseda in Shinjuku-ku. Old Waseda Street diverges to the northwest in 2, Honnamanuma point of intersection of Suginami-ku.

Momozono River

Momozono River

The river where the Momozono River (ももぞのがわ) flows through Suginami-ku, Tokyo and Nakano-ku. It is become all section culverts. I am called "the Nakano River" in Nakano-ku.

Table of contents

Geography

Momozono River city park Suginami-ku

I deepen a valley from the neighborhood from the area beyond the cedar street in an approximately 1.5km flow, the north of Asagaya Station to the east from Amanuma wife of chief zen-priest Pond Park) neighborhood equal to the north of Ogikubo Station at Suginami-ku, Tokyo, the present and go south. It is Momozono River city park after having passed through Chuo Line southeast at a Suginami Ward zelkova park and throws it from there on the east southeast and crosses Nakano-ku in form to almost travel side by side with an Okubo street from the place beyond the Circular Route 7 to the east. I join the Kanda River flowing through the border of Nakano-ku and Shinjuku-ku near Suehiro bridge in the Higashi-Nakano Station south side.

The current culvert becomes the sewer called the Momozono River main line. An opening to the Kanda River is diverted water from Momozono River filthy water main line and is hard to say the water of the original river.

History

The water source of the Momozono River is the wife of chief zen-priest pond which I produced at the spring of the Amanuma wife of chief zen-priest office which there was ever in Amanuma wife of chief zen-priest Pond Park (a wife of chief zen-priest marsh, Amanuma, gourd pond.approximately 300 tsubos). In the pond where a Sarasvati small shrine is enshrined, I am said to be an origin of the place name of "Amanuma". The whole area was a precinct of a Shinto shrine of Amanuma Yawata Shrine, and there was the restaurant called "Amanuma by a pond bower" in the bank of the pond.

The gorge which Momozono river to see from the topography chops of upper reaches is not so deep, and it is thought that there was little spring quantity from old days. Six ケ 村分水 from Senkawa water supply let go through for (Hoei era four years) in 1707 of the Edo era was passed through from the east (35°42'21" N 139°37'09" E / 35.705884 degrees N 139.619193 degrees E / 35.705884, 139.619193 (Momozono River passing water)) neighborhood (with the promenade entrance) of the all sides way intersection of current Omekaido by the Momozono river.

The spring is confirmed (1955) until the time in 1955. Because becoming it went ahead residential land through around Kanda River rapidly after the war, it was often a flood by heavy rains and was reported a sewage clown about the river of the urban area of Tokyo in (1961) in 1961. The Momozono River was made all a culvert by the 40, Showa generation, too [1].

The precinct of a Shinto shrine was sold to SEIBU Railway after having transferred Sarasvati in the Yawata Shrine precincts when Amanuma Yawata Shrine was rebuilt in (1975) in 1975. The spring was filled up, and woman's house concerned was built with Yoshiaki Tsutsumi who was SEIBU Railway's chairperson in those days under the pretense of "a golf training institute". I was sold to Suginami-ku with the stock listing abolition of the company in 2004 and was maintained afterwards as municipal Amanuma wife of chief zen-priest Pond Park in (2007) in 2007. A pond in this park is an artificial pond made with park creation of this time, and there is not the spring unlike an original pond.

Summary

At one 1 line station above the ground, it was so-called "line station". There was the platform on the east side of the track, and the exit existed nearer the north. The position where the station was caught a railroad crossing in front of the current Hitotsubashi-Gakuen Station north exit and, in an immediate place, was right just a stone's throw.

Because only 400 meters had distance with Hitotsubashi University Gaku Station of neighbor Station, I would be unified for congestion reducing and disappeared.

Origin of the station name

"The Kodaira school" of the station name is the name with the university town "Kodaira university town" which Hakone land Co., Ltd. (later コクド, current Prince Hotel) elaborates a plan and developed not a school name.

The Hakone land which fixed on the fact that the demand for suburbs house increased by the Great Kanto Earthquake of (1923) in 1923 envisioned "the national university town" which national, did "Oizumi university town" assuming a school invitation led by Tokyo university of commerce (existing Hitotsubashi University Kunitachi school building) in the Oizumi district (still large Izumimura) of Nerima each and started housing land development. It was "Kodaira university town" to have been made mainly on Tokyo university of commerce preparatory course (existing Hitotsubashi University Kodaira school building) as one.

The cityscape of the grid opening around Hitotsubashi-Gakuen Station can see the feature of this "Kodaira university town" now.

History

Refer to Hitotsubashi-Gakuen Station

  • It is April 6 - opening of business (1928) for 1,928 years.
  • I announce the plan that - SEIBU Railway casts a train of unification and three formation of Manabu Kodaira Sono Station and Hitotsubashi University Gaku Station for the transport capacity reinforcement of Tamako Line (1964) in June in 1964 and runs extra every ten minutes from 15 minutes [1].
  • Hitotsubashi-Gakuen Station is a deserted station with having practiced medicine by unification with July 1 -1 bridge Daigaku Station (1966) for 1,966 years.

Measures at the time of the unification

On the occasion of the opening of business of Hitotsubashi-Gakuen Station, to assume it an exchangeable station; a divergence machine of the north side of the Manabu Kodaira Sono Station yard will be approximately founded at the position equal to the middle. However, I was not constructed until just before that because you must bend the existing track when I constructed it earlier, and a train hit the home in a junction department. Therefore, the divergence machine levels a home after the last train of the day before unification and will be installed.

Situation after the deserted station

They merge the place where there were a home and the station building at the mall and are done bookmaking, and they are lined with multi-tenant buildings, and the remains of an ancient structure are left for nothing now. There is still the divergence machine set up midmost of the old yard in the same place and acts as north end region of the yard of Hitotsubashi-Gakuen Station.
