Kazumi Matsuo (track-and-field athlete)

Kazumi Matsuo (track-and-field athlete)

The former Japan girl track and field (long-distance running, marathon) player who Kazumi Matsuo (waiting Kazumi, present family name, Sakamoto.on April 18, 1974 -) was from Kobe-shi, Hyogo, and played an active part from the late 1990s through early 2000s. Representative 2001 Edmonton World Championships in Athletics women marathon. It is Tenmaya Department Store position at the time of the active play.

Brief career history

Via Kobe City Tarumizu Junior High School, Suma girls' high school (existing Suma school Senior High School), Tokyo University of Agriculture junior college, Tenmaya Department Store enters the company in 95. Naoko Sakamoto of the Athens Olympics women marathon seventh place winning prize, Rie Matsuoka and others of the Edmonton World Championships in Athletics women marathon 22nd place belonged to Eri Yamaguchi, the younger student of the Sydney Olympics women marathon seventh place winning prize to a senior of Tenmaya Department Store in 2004 in 2000.

It is said that the pattern that is the first marathon decided start for the retirement readiness by Hokkaido marathon of August, 1999 without being able to leave a conspicuous grade by the track and field after entering member of society. However, I defeated Tomoe Abe who was a favorite in close competition in Hokkaido and carried out marathon's first championship suddenly in fast sailing, goal time of two hours 32 minutes 14 seconds. I am appointed by the exercise partner before Sydney Olympics of Eri Yamaguchi and will continue active play afterwards.

The second marathon wins the championship at Berlin marathon of September, 2000, the following day, thyme of two hours 26 minutes 15 seconds again. I accomplished Japanese first championship by 2 straight victories and Berlin marathon by oneself marathon.

The third marathon Nagoya international women marathon (planned start, but is absent from the meeting of the last year) of March, 2001. While a lap time every 5 kilos continues chopping the 17 minutes level from the early stages of the race to the latter half, as for the leader, an unhurried pace continued, but Matsuo gradually speeds it up by oneself so that 35 kilos of the race end game is over. It became the match race with Takami Ominami, but Matsuo pushed Ominami after entering the Mizuho land sports stadium and achieved a marathon 3 straight victory afterwards in two hours 26 minutes 01 seconds in personal best time.

The fourth marathon was women marathon to be carried out on the last day of the World Championships in Athletics Edmonton meeting of August, 2001. A marathon 4 straight victory of Matsuo was expected, but it becomes the race in the poor physical condition due to the fever just before a public performance and falls off a championship fight near the middle stage. It ended in the ninth place of result two hours 29 minutes 57 seconds, and the marathon 4 straight victory did not become (others Reiko Tosa is a second place winning prize, and, as for championship, as for silver medal acquisition, Yoko Shibui, the Japan women's team still acquires a gold medal a fourth place winning prize gold medal acquisition in Lidia Simon).

In January, 2002, I expressed retirement taking advantage of marriage suddenly. After retirement, I am active by a guest runner or the lecture of the marathon meet.
