Tatsuhiko Kodama (こだまたつひこ, 1953 (1953) March 22 -) is a Japanese medical scientist, biologist. The Mayor of Tokyo University isotopic general center center [¹] and Tokyo University tip technology research center professor [³] specialty is internal medicine, molecular biology, a system medicine domain, the field of blood vessel system [²].

Person

Tokyo is created (1953) in March in 1953 [⁴]. I graduate from Komaba Junior High School attached to the Tokyo teachers' college, a high school and enter the Tokyo University medical department. I graduate from (1977), the Tokyo University medical department in 1977. In June of the year, it is a doctor at University of Tokyo Hospital. Via Tokyo Metropolitan Komagome hospital, I work as a doctor in (1979), the University of Tokyo Hospital in 1979.

I acquire the degree of the doctor of medicine (Tokyo University) by an article of "the plasma lipoprotein abnormality in familial LCAT part deficiency" (Abnormalities in Plasma Lipoprotein in Familial Partial Lecithin:Cholesterol Acyltransferase Deficiency) (1984) in April in 1984 [⁵].

I study in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology biology department (1985) in May in 1985 and become a researcher. In the university, I engage in a genetic study causing the arteriosclerosis [⁶]. It is succeeded in 1987 by antibody manufacture in response to (1987), this gene called "a scavenger receptor". Using an antibody, I purified a receptor to aim at from the lungs of the cow and pushed forward work to find out a gene based on the amino acid sequence [⁶]. While (1989), a study are unfinished, I return home for 1,989 years, but I decode genetic code with the 9-year-old eldest son in a Japan Airlines machine toward Narita and locate the genetic existence on this occasion [⁶]. This gene was registered by the name of "plasmid JAL No. 5" for an airplane, and the result of this study was announced to British science magazine "nature" in (1990) in 1990 [⁶].

I take office as an assistant at Tokyo University medical department third department of internal medicine (1989) in April in 1989. I win Tokyo techno forum 21 "gold medal prize" for the study of "the scavenger theory of the aging of blood vessel and the nerve" (1997) in April in 1997. I win Erwin phone ベルツ prize (the 35th anniversary memorial award, 35th) for (1998), a study of "a scavenger receptor and the arteriosclerosis of the macrophage" in 1998.

I teach Tokyo University tip technology research center until (2002) in 2002 from (1996) in 1996. As aide university president, I made "a special appointment professor system" with the term of office, and it was a special appointment professor of the first by oneself in (2002) in 2002. I become Tokyo University tip technology research center professor again (2004) in May in 2004.

I am described as saying "I attracted attention as a study to discover "the scavenger (cleaner) receptor" which a geriatric diseases researcher in the van of the world takes the low-density lipoprotein which the oxidation that is the garbage in the blood vessel denatured in the surface of the macrophage (macrophage) in, and to have clarified arteriosclerotic mechanism in molecules Revell, and to do a gene manipulation, and to be born, and to make the mouse which there is not of the scavenger receptor, and to be connected by the genetic study of the aging for new medicine development from the world."
