Yamauchi Yuki

Yuuchi Yuki(Yuuki Yamakuchi, July 20, 1948 - ) Is a Tokyoian musician. After learning the acoustic guitar which he became widely known in the period of the revival of the Hawaiian traditional culture in the 1970's, he returned to Japan and introduced through sound production creation, instruction books, record books and other books. In the year of the 60th anniversary of the 60th anniversary, we are publishing seven sets of CDs that explain the history of Hawaiian music.

Biography

I am interested in Hawaiian that I listened to on record and radio programs, started steel guitar in junior high school days, and when I was in college I started slack key guitar by myself.

After graduating from university, I am going to Hawaii with the desire to see if I am doing what I am doing. Originally I was going to learn to (), but as I walked asking a slack key · guitarist, I finally got to apprentice to Ray Kane (). While staying in Hawaii, Ray, Gabby, Sonny Chillingworth, Atta Isaacs, Alice Namakelua and others will co-star.

After returning home, while working as a main business of family business konnyaku, in parallel as a musician. Activities centered on Hawaiian, such as release of albums, participation in albums of Hawaiian and Okinawa music, writing of books, writing commentaries, live activities and holding classes, are diverse. Besides interacting with Hawaiian artists such as Kanee and other Hawaiian artists in addition to exchanges in the traditional Hawaiian field, he also performed a wide range of music activities with Japanese artists and musicians in the Asia Pacific region.

In recent years, we are particularly focused on the spread of slack key guitar.

In 2014, at 2014, received Ki Ho'alu (Slack Key · Guitar) Foundation Legacy Award.

Called by ALANI's nickname, this means Orange, which is the Hawaiian name given by Ray Kāne.
