Osseo Integration

Osseointegration(: Osseointegration) is a state where it is directly integrated at the level of the egg. Os representing bone, osteon representing bone in Greek and integration representing integration <Integration representing integration in Latin Coined words from. history

In 1952, a biomicroscope made of titanium was attached to the shin of rabbit, and observation experiment of micro blood flow was carried out. When trying to remove the tool, we discovered that titanium and bone tissue can bind without causing a rejection reaction, because titanium and bone can not be removed, and this phenomenon was named osseointegration .

Clinical application

This discovery made it possible to treat dental implants tightly bound to bones and is now one of the fundamental theories of dental implant treatment. However, most of the currently performed dental implants are in the range of the alveolar bone, meaning different from the original meaning of "bone coupling".
