Local song

Local song

The local song (beat a song) is the musical piece that proposed local color or homesickness on the front by taking in matters about manners and customs, culture, the topography of a city name, district name and each district in a title and the lyrics with the genre of a popular song, popular music and an enka ballad, the folk song mainly.

When "willow ヶ shallows blues" (1966) of Kennichi Mikawa has begun to become the reputation, it is said to the word "local song" that the flack of the crown record (Japanese crown) of the sales agency begins to use it and spread out [1]. The modern folk song that is 1 genre of the popular song from latter half to the Showa period dates back to the Taisho era and may be said to be a local song.

Kaori Mizumori has a nickname of "the Queen of the local song".
