I am scouted in (2006), Sannomiya, Kobe-shi in 2006 and display the main gravure in collection of amateur girl-limited photographs "Be.GIRLS photobook vol.3".

In 2007, I become an entry member for the first semester in "Institute of YS young girl" 2007. On July 26, the same year, I win the grand prix and display a cover of the "weekly young sundae" 34th and the first page gravure.

I finish 1 annual and quit a women's college of Kyoto and, in 2008, devote myself to entertainment activity. In April of the year, I make my debut as an actress in original horror DVD "actually scary nursery rhyme VOL.1". In June of the year, I appear to 劇団元祖黒久 1.1.1 raising an army performance "ship" (the stage).

I made a voyage to Thailand for photography of the gravure on November 20, 2008 and was going to return home on 27th. However, Thai anti-government group, citizen democratic coalition (PAD) occupies スワンナプーム International Airport and falls into the situation that cannot leave the country under this influence. Elias James "E.J." Cory (Elias James "E.J." Corey, July 12, 1928 -) is an organic chemist of the United States of America. In 1990, I won Nobel Prize in Chemistry by an achievement in "development of an organic synthetic theory and the methodology" particularly retrosynthesis analysis [1] [2]. It is one of the greatest chemists of the life time and collects the respect of many people as of 2011. Cory developed many synthetic reagents and methodology and greatly contributed to the development of the organic synthetic field.

Career

In 1928, I was born in the house of the Christian Lebanese emigrant in マスーアン of Massachusetts. Mother praised father who died in 18 months after he was born and changed my name from his name to "Elias". They were brother of his mother, and two sisters, uncles and aunts lived together in a large house while fighting against recession. Cory ran the elementary school and Lawrence public high school of Roman Catholic line.

After entering Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1945, and having acquired a doctorate of chemistry at 22 years old in bachelor's degree, 1951 of chemistry in 1948, it was the researcher of the University of Illinois Urbana champagne school immediately, and it was a full professor at 27 years old in 1956. I move to Harvard University in 1959 and become the honorary professor of the organic synthetic lecture now. In addition, in 2004, I won most honorable Priestley Prize (Priestley Medal) in American Chemical Society.

Cory acts as an adviser of Pfizer more than 50 years [3]. I marry Claire of the wife in 1961, and there are three children (David, John, Susan) and two granddaughters (Sara, Kate). Cory and Claire of the wife live in Massachusetts Cambridge now.

I accept a foreign student from all the countries of the world and play an active part as the researcher that most pull organic chemistry world now. As for a lot of people who received discipline of Cory to a Japanese chemist, the achievement at this plane is immeasurable, too. Ryoji Noyori praises him in a winning the Nobel Prize commemorative lecture of 2001 saying "the modern organic chemistry would not exist if there is not Cory".

The office of Cory of Harvard University is notorious for a red light, the green light which is attached outside a door.

Reaction

The reaction developed in a laboratory of Cory becomes familiar in the laboratory of the modern organic chemistry system. At least 302 kinds of synthetic law was developed in the laboratory of Cory from 1950 [8]. Many reactions name the name of Cory.

Total synthesis

The study group of Cory completes many natural product total synthesis. From 1950, the complex compound amounts to at least 265 kinds in a study group of Cory [9]. The total synthesis of prostaglandin of 1969 is said to be right artistic [10]; [11]. In addition, I devise the concept called the synthon which is necessary for total synthesis.

In addition, I show below a thing famous.

I announced the total synthesis by the short process of the oseltamivir (Tamiflu) of the antiinfluenza medicine in 2006 [21] and it was said, "it is a study for the world" and did not acquire a patent.

Suicide of the graduate student

The student of the Doctoral degree course in Harvard University named Jason Al Tom (Jason Altom) drank potassium cyanide in 1998, and committed suicide [22]; [23]. He was the second suicide in a study group of Cory in two years. He nominated "the abuse of the study instructor" for one of own reasons to kill their life in a will. The theme of Al Tom felt very heavy pressure since before study life began in accomplishing the synthesis of compound by composition of very complicated natural product (Aspidophytine)[24].

The suicide of Al Tom highlighted a cause of the pressure that the student of the doctoral course was given, a problem of the isolation in the university and the friction (friction) between a leader and students. By this case, many universities came to strongly insist on attaching a deputy president of the board of examiners who gave it to the main instructor, and could talk with the student of the doctoral course. James Anderson (James Anderson) who became a chemical director of Harvard University declared it saying "you must examine the role that should carry out death of Jason because this subject protected the life of the student as a lesson". Anderson promised that I prepared for "the secret, seamless counseling" that was received free by a subject having an expense again for a student. However, as of 2004, this service is canceled.

Cory states, "it cannot be understood, and I did an intense misunderstanding, or Jason must have lost reason at all" about his will. The record that I declared when Cory has not had a question about ability of Al Tom remains. In addition, I state, "it is to have come off all of what it is the same as having done the best for instruction of Jason, and mountains guide guiding a person doing mountain climbing and did my best in all, and I have no shady thing, and Jason did from our collaborative relationship, and there was not passing each other at all".

Woodward Hoffman 則

When I won Priestley Prize, Cory insisted that it was oneself to have given a hint of Woodward Hoffman 則 in Robert Barnes Woodward and caused controversy. It is refuted Roald Hoffman about this matter in Angewandte Chemie magazine [25].
