Genre (genre movie) of the movie

The media and the public were popular and, in a wide sense, classified movies in a standard with the common characteristic of movie constitution elements (the subject, subject, ストーリーテリング, style, character). In a narrow sense, I point to the typical entertainment movie classified in various ways called the genre movie. [1]

The category that classified the common characteristics such as a subject, a theme, a story form, the character in a standard by various movies. There are a comedy, an action, a Western film, horror, SF, others and it is pronominal and, for a motion picture belonging to the genre that an entertainment characteristics and show degree such as the said article in particular is higher, may use the word of the genre movie [2]. — A cinema ten-day report "modern movie glossary of terms"

There is not what's called clear definition when I distribute a genre and do a movie. For convenience, I take out the characteristic element in the work arbitrarily and only classify it. Therefore both the classification method and the standards are often different by a selector. In addition, it is not only the movie which I can fix only to the specific genre. It is custom to follow the way of the sales of (at the time of broadcast, release) at the time of an exhibition.

The Internet movie database classifies the genres of the movie in 23 basic genres.
