Geography

River Brave

Pontivy is at the intersection of the Canal of the Brave Can, an important canal in the center of Brittany, the Canal of Nantes a Brest.

On 4th August 2004, the Commune Parliament passed ratification of the Charter encouraging daily use of Breton.

In September 2007, 11.8% of commune school children were enrolled in schools where classes were conducted in two languages, Breton and French.
